The aim is to reduce concentrations of dust, mists and fumes resulting from production processes in order to protect human and ecosystem health. A market analysis of small and medium-sized companies specialising in air treatment within industrial processes, described by Mario Cadamuro, founder and owner of the eponymous workshops.
Air pollution harms the environment and human health. In Europe, emissions of many air pollutants have decreased substantially in recent decades, leading to better air quality thanks to legislation and cooperation with the polluting sectors. Among these, however, industrial processes still develop too high concentrations of pollutants and problems with the quality of the air we breathe persist.
Mario Cadamuro sensed the importance of investing in air purification as early as 1963 when he decided to begin his mission in the industrial vacuum sector by founding the eponymous workshops in Breda di Piave (TV), a family-run business, rooted in the North-East area, where small and medium industries are the beating heart of a strong territorial economy.
«The company," Mr. Cadamuro recounts, "proposed itself at its inception with small suction systems, aware that working in a healthy environment also means for mankind to work better and obtain greater results in product quality; later it specialised in the construction and installation of complete suction systems in the wood sector, until expanding its services to various sectors such as plastics, mechanics, painting, ceramics, glass, chemistry, etc.».
Multinationals and small businesses are now united by the same mission, which is to take a more ambitious sustainable path by deploying new technical and technological discoveries.
«The company has a concept of familiarity extended to its employees and this has certainly contributed significantly to the success of the Cadamuro brand. Just like other small and medium-sized companies, we have managed to carve out a space in the global market to manifest our 'uniqueness' made up of listening, availability and customised solutions for the new needs of an ever-growing user base, even on an international level. Filtration and suction systems are aimed at removing harmful elements in the air, favouring the processing of materials also intended for use by the end consumer. The common goal, therefore, is to reduce concentrations of dust, mists and fumes resulting from production processes in order to protect human health and ecosystems».
Another of the company's distinguishing features is its versatility, which translates into the diversification of know-how related to over 55 years of activity. In addition to the design and installation of air filtration systems, in fact, Officine Cadamuro deals with systems for the storage of waste materials and has invested in the production of hammer mills.
«The mill is in a machine that tends towards pulverisation and is therefore suitable for grinding dry products of a mineral, vegetable or chemical nature that have previously been reduced to granules».
Despite the efforts devoted to innovation and business dynamism, Mr. Cadamuro points out the serious labour crisis that small and medium-sized companies have been suffering in recent years.
"If we take a close look at the last thirty years," he says, "we notice how vocational school training in some disciplines has been lacking. Vocational schools have been downgraded instead of being enhanced for the future of the new generations. We appeal to educational institutions to shift their focus and retrain vocational schools, because nowadays very few young people 'know how to do a trade'. Take simple household maintenance as an example, people prefer to throw away rather than repair, thus creating wealth on the one hand, but generating human and environmental poverty on the other».
In addition, the pandemic crisis has put a strain on small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs themselves, who denounce a lack of the economic and political conditions to deploy what Mr Cadamuro calls the 'natural vocation', borrowing the words of Luigi Einaudi in a famous speech in 1960.
«However, we are confident that the funds that will be made available to companies with Recovery Plan will give a real boost to the economy by focusing above all on environmental protection, where air extraction and filtration systems can also have a good say. We also hope vigour for all those small and medium-sized businesses that characterise the Triveneto region, a good basin for our country's economy".
Shoot, render, produce
The company's motto 'shoot, render and produce' was coined by the company owner, Mr Mario Cadamuro, in the early 1980s during a working day when he realised that his employees were slightly weakened and needed to be overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of their leader. After more than 55 years of operation, the owner of Officine Cadamuro wants to transmit the same energy by talking about recovery, investments and innovations aimed at protecting the environment and in particular air quality, a precious commodity.
